Puppies

Our Dogo Family
by our human, Kym Citera

On September 4, 2007, from 7am until 4pm, our first litter of Dogo puppies were born.  It was so exciting, but little did I know of all the work that Nela and I would have to do for the next 3 months.  There were 10 live puppies born, but during the next week we lost 1 due to a little mistake of Nela. Then a month later, we lost another.  That left us with 8 happy, healthy and fat puppies.

We hand raised them, socialized them, gave them lots of new experiences and found them wonderful homes with great humans.  We did our job, and now we want to share the pictures of the puppies when they were little, and how they look now at on their second year birthday.

Macho de Libertad: Macho was the first puppy to arrive, and he showed up at 7am.  Nela was so excited that she picked him up after cleaning him carefully and it was all I could do to get her to put him down and let him nurse.  He came out so easy, and weighed in at 450 grams. Macho is very lucky to have such a wonder ful human as Lindsey.  They both love to dress up and go to parties.  Also, they have a convertible and take drives with the top down. Notice the picture of Macho with his sunglasses? They are called “Doggles”.

Guale de Libertad: Guale was the second puppy to be born, and it took about 90minutes - cause he was so big! He weighed in at 550 grams!  I was seriously thinking of how to load Nela into my car to take her to the vet, but finally Guale came out.  Guale was adopted by Ed and Lucille.  He too had a special birthday.  I hope you enjoy his pictures.
