I am fortunate to have two well-trained people to take care of me and my pack. Our human leader is Dan. That’s him there with a very large halibut. I trained him to go out on his boat and catch fish for me to eat (well, ok maybe he learned this on his own). I must admit that I really prefer it when he catches albacore ( I just love those heads), but I can handle eating halibut fillets. Dan has a wood working shop at home. He recently made me a custom grooming table (funny how my humans refer to it as the picnic table) from prime redwood. I just love laying out on my table while my human brushes my coat.
Our female human is Kym. She is the one that is our primary care-taker. She feeds us, grooms us, drives us to cool spots like the pond, and tells us we are wonderful. She loves me best, cause I hang out with her while she cleans the house and washes clothes. As a matter of fact, I help out with the sorting of the laundry. She makes the first couple of piles, and then I make a few more. She sure does yell when I help. Also, I am really good at arranging the shoes in the closet. First I take them out and smell them. If they are dirty, I lick them clean (the humans say I chew them but that’s cause they don’t really know what a chewed shoe looks like).
A strange thing my humans do, they like to go boating and fish. Well, I guess it gives them something to do when they aren’t feeding me or playing with me. Oh yeah, they also take Nela and me hiking in the foothills above our home. This is great, cause I get to meet people and smell all the plants. Nela goes crazy over the hiking thing, cause she really loves to run. Me, I prefer to look cool and just saunter along.
Well, I guess you know by now - I really love my humans!
